East Flatbush Project is the creation of Spencer Bellamy, a DJ for the hip hop legend, Hitman Howie Tee (RIP). The original, first released in 1996 on Brooklyn based label 10/30 Uproar Records from Brooklyn, owned by Spencer Bellamy and features local Brooklyn MC, DeS (Ron Smith). First remixed by Joe Budha & Scientists Of Sounds and released on London based label, Downlow Entertainment (Kickin Records) in 1996. But most memorable are the remixes on the Chocolate Industries project by Ko-Wreck Technique (Push Button Objects & DJ Craze), Freeform, Squarepusher, Sluta Leta, The Herbaliser, Funkstorung, Autechre, etc.. South Florida had an extensive "pirate radio" scene broadcasting anything from bass, hip hop, rave culture, house music to Caribbean sounds. In 1998 the FCC famously busted 15 South Florida stations in a one day raid that made international headlines. Legends and inspirations: Uncle Al (RIP), 91.7 Bass FM, HOT 97.7, etc. In the late 90's most memorable to us was DJ RAW's 91.7 FM WJHH - NEW SCHOOL operated out of school bus and Mixx96 (96.1 FM) transmitting from a downtown Miami high-rise building. In 1998, OHM 94.3 FM was born one floor below Mixx96. OHM - Omni Harmonic Music mainly focused on underground and experimental electronic music as well as progressive dance music of that time. Founded by PL3X the founders had affiliations with WOMB 107.1 on South Beach and with MTA 94.3 FM (1996) previously. Plex/PL3X (formerly Pantone Digital) was a graphic design company in South beach EST. 1997 by Rick Garrido & La Mano Fria specializing mostly in Miami nightlife flyers and culture. "Jungle River Bubbles is a remote collaboration between Max Devereaux, Yuichi Onoue, and Takashi Itani, created in the summer of 2025. Devereaux and Onoue originally set out to make a follow-up to their 2022 duo album Tears on a Lotus, exchanging guitar and synthesizer improvisations across continents. Wanting to bring a new rhythmic energy and unpredictable pulse to the project, they invited percussionist Takashi Itani to join. Itani’s inventive drumming and percussive color transformed the sessions into something more untamed and fluid — a sonic jungle that flows like a river and pops like bubbles along the way. Sud Swap Audio was a natural home for such a playful, exploratory record — full of texture, spontaneity, and chaotic joy."
